At the start of the 1980s, a unique musical trio from Long Island, New York, took the music and recording business by storm! Calling themselves The Stray Cats, the trio consisted of Brian Setzer as lead singer and guitarist, Lee Rocker (Leon Drucher) on string bass, and Slim Jim Phantom (lim McDonnell) on drums. In addition to his frontman status, setzer also wrote the group's songs, which were produced by renowned singer/songwriter/producer Dave Edmunds, himself a hot record-seller. The group hit the Top to of the best-seller charts their first time out in September 1982 with the rockabilly smash "Rock This Town," and followed it with a *3 winner "Stray Cat Strut" in December of the same year. Critically ac-claimed, the trio rapidly became radio favorites and hit the charts again at *5 with "(She's) Sexy + 17" in August 1983. Their follow-up hit was "I Won't Stand In Your Way" in October of 1983, and "Look At That Cadillac" which hit in January of 1984.Those hits and more are included in this new collection of The Stray Cats. Also featured in the Stray Cats Greatest Hits are these rockin' favorites: "Too Hip, Gotta Go," "Rev It Up & Go," "18Miles To Memphis," and more. The Stray Cats disbanded in 1984, but they certainly left their mark on the history of the pop music business! Fans will love this never-a-dull-moment album of rockin rockabilly hits by the coolest "cats" ever!
