NEA Jazz Master George Coleman has played with a who’s who of jazz and blues greats such as Miles Davis, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Lee Morgan, Herbie Hancock, Charles Mingus, Cedar Walton, and B.B. King, among many others. In Baltimore is a previously unissued recording of the tenor giant, captured live at the Famous Ballroom in Baltimore, MD on March 23, 1971 in a show presented by the Left Bank Jazz Society. Coleman’s quintet features trumpeter Danny Moore, pianist Albert Dailey, bassist Larry Ridley and drummer Harold White. The deluxe limited edition, numbered LP will include an extensive booklet with rare photos, essays and multiple interviews with George Coleman, Eric Alexander, Michael Cuscuna and co-producers Cory Weeds and Zev Feldman. Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Studios and pressed on 180g vinyl at 33 1/3 RPM by Standard Vinyl in Toronto. 1500 copies will be released worldwide, at independent record stores, for RSD Black Friday.
