One of rock’s most influential and enduring singer-songwriters, Jesse Colin Young, who first made history with the Youngbloods on their classic ‘60s peace anthem “Get Together,” and who has amassed a loyal worldwide over the past five decades, will release his 19th solo album, DREAMERS, on May 24th, 2019 via BMG.

A poignant and compelling work, Dreamers sees Young exploring a wide array of musical styles – blazing country-rock, exhilarating folk, Cajun waltz, neo-blues and Celtic grooves – on 14 new originals that include some of the singer’s most deeply personal lyrics with other cuts that cast a critical eye at the state of the world today.

“It’s been a while since I’ve spoken out,” says Young, whose last solo album was 2006’s Celtic Mambo, “but I feel as if this is the best record I’ve ever made. There’s love songs that really get to the heart of what I’m feeling and have lived through, and on the political songs I’m looking at the world and going, ‘How did everything come out this way?’ The election of 2016 and everything that’s happened since really affected my writing, probably more so than anything in the ‘60s or ‘70s.”

Even before the release of Dreamers, Young has been performing a handful of his new songs live and he proudly reports that the response from fans has been gratifying.

Dreamers was produced by Colin Linden (Don MacLean, Bruce Cockburn) with the artist’s son, Tristan Young, serving as both associate producer and bassist.

And for Young’s longtime fans, they’ll also get a generous helping of the singer’s beloved body of work, songs such as ‘Ridgetop’, ‘Sunlight’, ‘Darkness, Darkness’, and of course, ‘Get Together’. “Whenever I play the opening guitar line of ‘Get Together,’ the crowd just explores,” he enthuses. “I could never get tired of playing that one. The poetry is always powerful and beautiful.”
